Randi Koenig
Practicum Student
Hi, I’m Randi!

I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of Houston–Clear Lake. After graduating from Baylor University with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations, I built a career in nonprofit fundraising, working with environmental, healthcare, and academic organizations. Throughout my non-profit career, my favorite aspect of fundraising has always been building meaningful relationships and creating genuine connections with others.
Over time, I continued to feel increasingly called toward counseling — a path I believe has always been my true purpose. I am especially passionate about supporting children, teens, and young adults by helping them develop the tools and resilience needed to thrive while navigating life’s challenges. I aim to support neurodivergent children with ADHD, anxiety, and Autism by creating a space where they feel understood, accepted, and comfortable being themselves. I take a humanistic, strengths-based approach that emphasizes personal growth and authenticity. I am especially passionate about child-centered play therapy, including art, narrative, and music-based interventions, and hope to incorporate animal-assisted therapy in the future to help clients feel safe, connected, and empowered.
As a mother of two children, I bring both personal and real-world experience to my work. Through firsthand experience with counseling services for children and families, I have seen the tremendous need for compassionate mental health support. I believe my background in parenting, relationship-building, and advocacy allows me to approach counseling with empathy, authenticity, and a holistic perspective. I hope to help create a more supportive and caring future for every individual and family I have the privilege of working with at BPC!
