I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, under the supervision of Kelly Peyton, MA, LPC-S, RPT-S, CCTP. I received a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology from Texas Christian University.
Many inspirations through my own life have led me to purse working with children. As a child my own dyslexia and ADHD diagnosis challenged me to develop new skills, grow my self-esteem, and cultivate different coping mechanisms than my peers. I am extremely passionate in helping children, just as so many wonderful people have helped me throughout my life.
My professional experience includes individual and group therapy, assessments, and parent education in a private practice setting. My focus is working with young children and their families. Depending on my client’s needs, I primarily operate from a Play Therapy or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach. Currently I am pursuing my Registered Play Therapy License, in which my knowledge and love of play therapy continues to evolve.
I firmly believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for growth. Additionally, through collaborating with the child’s parents I hope to enhance a positive transformation throughout the entire family. My goal is to create a safe environment for children to freely express, flourish, and heal.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling and playing with my dog.
If you have any questions about me or about counseling at our office please feel free to contact me. I look forward to the opportunity of working with you!
