Brittani L. Persha

Founder & Clinic Director

LCSW-S, RPT-S

Hi, I’m Brittani!

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S) and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S), I have over fifteen years’ experience in private practice specializing in therapy with children and families. I earned my bachelors degree from the University of Mississippi and my masters’ degree from the University of Houston.

I work from a place that incorporates play, attachment, and neuroscience together. Which means that I strive to help you understand your child’s unique way of expressing themselves, the impact of your parent-child relationship, and the influence of your child’s currently developing brain.

During my years working with parents and their children, I have seen firsthand how playfulness leads to an open and honest connection. I feel privileged that families welcome me into their world so that healing, growth, and understanding can occur.  Therapy with me is about joining with parents and children in a collaborative way where play and respect are shared, creating a space where clients can explore themselves fully.

I make it my mission to help families heal so they can come to a place of long-lasting change. I am dedicated to guiding families to get beyond their child’s behavior to what’s underneath it, so they can see children from a more holistic lens. It is my passion to inspire parents to reconnect with their playful sides, so they can rebuild the relationships with their children and form secure bonds.

Children express their feelings, needs, experiences and thoughts through play rather than words and my specialized training provides me the tools necessary to most effectively provide therapy services for children, teens and families.  I incorporate several play therapy modalities include Theraplay, Parent-Child Relationship Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Non-directive Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Experiential Therapy and Mind/Body Play Therapy.  I utilize play therapy along with family therapy and parent coaching in working with children & families.  My expertise include working with children and their families facing a variety of struggles including behavioral problems, trauma, coping with divorce and other life changes, grief and loss, ADHD, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, and family conflict.

I am also EMDR trained and specialize in working with adults, children and teens that have experienced trauma and other distressing symptoms.  EMDR is an 8 phase process that helps clients work through negative beliefs and difficult feelings and come to a more positive way to view themselves, others and the world.  In doing so, the client gains a more adaptive resolution of the distress or trauma and this leads to more positive behaviors and emotional well being.    My EMDR training also incorporates an attachment focus when healing trauma and further specialized training in EMDR and Family Therapy Integrative Model.   This model focuses specifically on children who have experienced trauma and other distressing situations and incorporate parents in the healing process.

I believe that life is largely about our relationships and the things that are impacted by those relationships- anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief & loss & other disorders.

I help individuals, couples and families gain new insights into their relationships, decrease conflict, improve communication, overcome infidelity and repair strained relationships. I have received additional training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), a relationship-oriented treatment model. I work collaboratively with clients to assist them in interrupting their negative cycles of interaction, so that new, more adaptive patterns can emerge and offer alternative ways to relate to others and effectively address life’s challenges.
