Beth Alvarez, LMSW
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I received my Masters of Social Work from the University of Houston and hold a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University.
I work with children, individuals, and families who have experienced trauma or abuse and whose lives are impacted by anxiety, depression, loss, relationship issues, and life transitions. I desire to create a safe, trusting environment for anyone seeking help and support. I believe when clients encounter a safe, authentic and empathetic environment, they are able to explore new thoughts, ideas, and behaviors that can change the projectory of their relationships, their career, and their life.
To best meet the needs of my clients, I use a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Attachment Based Family Therapy, Strengths Based Counseling, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Dialectical Based Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
I seek to empower the individual and affirm that there is always hope for change. I believe in the client’s unique strengths and help the client understand that their story is important and their lives matter. I know firsthand the desire to experience change and the courage and humility it takes to reach out for help. While I understand that sometimes people need help maneuvering ongoing life changes and difficult phases, I have seen lives transformed into freedom after healing.
